It's hot in the kitchen...
There is nothing fun about working in the heat. It is presently 82 degrees inside, hotter out. I can barely muster the spunk to climb the stairs up to the bathroom. I don't like the heat at the best of times, i.e. when I'm not eight months pregnant. I'm an autumn girl. I love everything about fall; the crispy blankets of leaves, the snappy air, the farmer's markets brimming with summer's harvest, pumpkins, apple cider, cool nights for sleeping and warm afternoons for enjoying the colourful outdoors.
When a girl is trying her best to make a go of home-cooked meals and mightily resisting the temptation of Pizza Pizza within walking distance down the street (okay let's be honest, I would probably drive just so I could sit in the car with the AC on for 30 seconds), the fact that I'm sweating faster than I can drink and seeing spots as I reach to turn the stove burner on- so not motivating.
I need to find some dinner recipes that don't require heat to prepare. Garden salad for supper, honey? Just what every carpenter wants after 9 hours of pounding nails, right? At least I can get away with ice cream for dessert.
